| Behold the Painting. No picture can quite capture the frightening essence of the Painting, in part because it is a three dimensional work painted on the pronounced folds of a canvas that visibly jut out towards the viewer. The Painting has no title, although it is occasionally known as the Scary Painting. The Painting lives in my parents' house over the TV, where it casts its frightening gaze over us as we watch Seinfeld or the latest DVD rental. Interpretations of the Painting abound. "It always looked like 3 ghosts to me," says my brother, "but I never went beyond that." |
